I became obsessed with computers when I was 7 years old (Power Macintosh G3 All-In-One at summer day-camp). That led me to start professionally developing for the internet in 2008.You name it and I've probably done it as some point in my career because I've always believed in being a jack of all trades in the digital realm. I embraced a full stack approach long before the term became popular.These days Iām an Engineering Manager working at Spins. I focus on the Destini team which scales a SaaS product locator platform used by fortune 500 brands.In my spare time you can usually find me at the beach playing volleyball, at live music gigs with my friends, or planning snowboarding expeditions.
Projects
Here are a few recent projects which I completed with my current team. I have been with SPINS for 10 years so my demonstrable work is for their proprietary products. My completed projects previous to this past decade has been rightfully replaced or updated.
Destini Pro Platform
The full featured version which is loaded with features and customized extensively to a clients discretion.
Key Achievement
Developed it solely with the lead engineer and scaled it into a highly modular platform able to meet demanding branding requirements.Major Challenge
Migrations between major version releases were very technically challenging and tediously laborious processes.
Destini Lite Platform
Lower cost standardized offering which has various toggle-able features and basic customization.
Key Achievement
I had an outsized impact over the years on shaping it to function perfectly and be highly scable.Major Challenge
It barely worked and was basically an MVP when I started in 2016 so there was a mountain of decisions that had to be made by me to improve it.
Destini Widget Platform
A lightweight option which is loaded onclick and overlays any existing UI. Simplified down to the essentials.
Key Achievement
Deciding to use exceptionally dry coding method for this product allowed us to make it easy to maintain.Major Challenge
Code related conflicts on client websites were a constant issue but we carefully resolved them on a case-by-case basis.
